FOURTH ANNUAL JASON LUCAS MEMORIAL GOLF OUTING

Whether you knew Jason Lucas personally or simply knew of him, you know that he lived a life defined by courage, resilience, and an unwavering spirit while battling Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). Jason was diagnosed with DMD at the age of seven in 1990, and throughout his life, he inspired everyone fortunate enough to know him. 

As we head into the fourth and final Jason Lucas Memorial Outing, the Lucas family is incredibly grateful to share that, thanks to your generosity, more than $30,000 has been donated over the past three years to organizations that held a special place in Jason’s and the family’s hearts, including the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA), the Bridesburg Boys & Girls Club, and the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. This year, we are honored to support the Make-A-Wish Foundation. 

Many of you may know that shortly after Jason was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, someone nominated him for a wish through Make-A-Wish. As a devoted Miami Dolphins fan, Jason’s dream was to meet Dan Marino. Make-A-Wish made that dream a reality by flying the entire Lucas family to Florida. They attended a Dolphins practice where Jason met many of his football heroes, including Dan Marino, Don Shula, Troy Vincent, and Brian Cox. The family then attended a Miami Dolphins vs. Kansas City Chiefs game, where the Dolphins came away with a big victory. Following the game, Jason and his father, John, were escorted to the players' tunnel, where Jason was presented with the game ball —a moment the family will never forget. The magic continued with several unforgettable days at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, creating memories that will last a lifetime.

That experience meant so much to Jason and the entire Lucas family, and it is one of the many reasons they are honored to support the Make-A-Wish Foundation this year. Their hope is that, with your generosity, another child facing a critical illness will have the opportunity to experience the same joy, hope, and unforgettable memories that Jason did.
